COVID 19 MITIGATION

SAFE TRAVEL ALTERNATIVES

SOF Adventures Understands Risk Mitigation

We wouldn't be here if we were bad at risk mitigation.

SOF ADVENTURES COVID-19 MITIGATION COURSE OF ACTION

Fortunately SOF Adventures trips are predominantly outdoor activities. We will utilize all of the space of the great outdoors to maintain appropriate social distancing.

As our groups are exclusive outings. We do not typically exceed 12 people per group. Often times larger groups will be subdivided into smaller elements for a given task.

We will encourage the use of PPE, masks and social distancing in any indoor environment or while in vehicles. Additionally, we will encourage the use of PPE and social distancing as appropriate for outside activities while the COVID-19 virus is a threat.

For vehicles, high-touch surfaces are cleaned frequently during the trip, and the entire vehicle gets thoroughly cleaned between groups.

Our equipment is issued to each individual at the start of each trip. Gear is  intended to be used by one person for the duration of the trip. Everything gets cleaned and sanitized after each trip, or is regularly cleaned throughout, depending on it's use.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)

PPE in the form of disposable gloves and masks will be available for all participants. Additionally, hand sanitizer will be readily available for use as required.

HEALTH ASSESSMENTS ( as required by current regulations or group needs )

All personnel will participate in pre-trip health assessments as well as daily  health assessments while on the trip.

We will monitor and assess all participants daily. You will be expected to check in each morning, answer questions regarding any new symptoms, and have your temperature checked.

If you have any of the following signs or symtopms you will be separated from the group and further assessed.

  • If you have a cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, headache, fatigue, nasal congestion or sneezing (different than pre-existing allergies), abdominal discomfort (nausea/diarrhea), muscle pain, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.

If a healthcare provider, In the past 14 days, have been in close contact with someone suspected or confirmed as having COVID-19 without wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

ACCOMMODATIONS

When camping, sleeping bags are assigned for the duration of the trip and cleaned between every departure.
Tents will be cleaned if any reassignment takes place during the trip and are cleaned between every departure

FOOD PREPARATION

Guide-prepared meals will follow food-handling guidelines and be served by the guides, rather than self-serve.

Many camping style meals are individual serving and re-hdrated with boiling water. Most everything else will come right off the campfire.

We will accommodate travelers' seating preferences and level of personal comfort to the best of our ability.

HIGH RISK INDIVIDUALS

People who are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 as defined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) should carefully consider whether attendance of a SOF Adventure is best for at this time.

If this activity does not work for you right now, we'll look forward to seeing you very soon!
